Up to this point we have looked at how to set acute dietary variables such as:
- Energy Balance
- Macronutrient Intake
- Macronutrient Timing
in order to achieve a a specific goal.
Today we are going to look at NUTRITION PERIODIZATION and how to manipulate those variables over a longer period of time to prevent stagnation and achieve long term success.
The body is a highly adaptable organism that constantly cycles through anabolic and catabolic processes.
This occurs both on a micro scale (day to day) and on a macro scale (month to month).
AS A RESULT, NO DIET PLAN WILL WORK FOREVER.
That's one of the main reason why so many people give up on their diet after a while, because they get stuck and become frustrated when it stops working.
